Programs

Kidzworld:

This popular Festival feature is back, bigger, and better than ever. Kidzworld features sand tables, airplane game, arts and crafts four Jumpy Things Inflatables; a painting gallery; face painting, and more. Kidzworld gives children and adults alike a great opportunity to learn about diverse cultural traditions together. All children’s programming is presented free of charge.

RE/MAX Lost Parent Centre:

Sometimes, at a large event like the Heritage Festival, children and parents can become separated. The Realty Executives Lost Parent Centre helps bring them together quickly and safely. Upon entering the park, parents may pick up free stickers showing the way to the Lost Parent Centre at all Information Kiosks or at the Kidzworld and affix them to their children’s backs. Should these children become lost, any employee, volunteer, or visitor can assist them in finding the Centre.

Hole-In-One Putt Challenge:

We would like to welcome back the Hole-In-One Putt Challenge to the Festival. For a $1.00 donation, Festival visitors can show off their putting skills. All successful hole-in-ones will receive an entry for a chance to win a major prize. Draws will be made Monday, August 2, 2010. Winners will be contacted by phone. Proceeds from the putt challenge will be divided equally between the South Edmonton Lions Club and future Edmonton Heritage Festivals.

Edmonton’s Food Bank:

The Edmonton Heritage Festival not only provides a wonderful variety of food to sample, we also help collect food in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank. We continue to be the Food Bank’s largest single food drive of the year. Help us to reach our goal of over 50,000 kilograms in donations by dropping off a non-perishable item or two. Volunteers will be located at the main entrance, at the ETS Park ‘n’ Ride bus stop and near the footbridge entrance to accept your donation. Edmonton’s Food Bank will also be collecting any unused food tickets from festival goers as they leave Hawrelak Park. The Edmonton Heritage Festival Association will reimburse the Food Bank for all tickets turned in. Thank you for your generosity and continuous support to Edmonton’s Food Bank.
