Borneo

“Selamat Datang” means welcome in the local dialect of Borneo. The Borneo island is located in South East Asia which divided into 3 nations: Brunei Darussalam, East Malaysia and Indonesia Kalimantan. At the centre is Brunei Darussalam, the wealthiest nation of the three. East Malaysia is located in the north and features Borneo’s highest landmark: Mount Kinabalu. The heavy tropical rainforest of Indonesia Kalimantan forms the rest of the Borneo island. The people of Borneo consists of the Malays, Chinese, East Indian and various other ethnic groups such as Bidayuh, Melanau, Penan, Orang Ulu, and the Ibans (Dayak) – the legendary head-hunters. Our people have a strong cultural outlook which is indicated by our ethnically diverse foods.
