Hellenic (Greek)
From the Bronze Age to current times, Hellas, more commonly known as Greece, has inspired and influenced many cultures around the Globe. Hellas is the birthplace of democracy and the Olympic Games. Hellenic philosophers from Thales to Aristotle are the foundation for science and academia that exists today. In current times, Hellas is admired for her stunning landscapes, friendly people and fresh food.
The Hellas Diaspora has spread to many regions of the world including Edmonton where the first Greek community was formed in 1930. Currently, approximately 4,000 Hellas live in Edmonton. This years Hellenic Pavilion is organized by the Hellenic-Canadian Community of Edmonton and we wish to share our culture with you. Come to learn about our history, enjoy the food and take part in music and dance.
