Scandinavia

The Scandinavian Heritage Society of Edmonton represents people of Danish, Icelandic, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian ancestry. The Society does a sampling of cultural displays, traditions, food and entertainment of people who trace their heritage to one of the Scandinavian (Nordic) countries. Scandinavians and Canadians of Scandinavian origin are very proud to celebrate the early historical presence of Scandinavians in North America, dating back to approximately 1000AD. Each country has developed their own population with unique language and cultural traits. The Scandinavian pavilion will be serving some of the more popular and traditional Scandinavian foods, present Scandinavian music and dancing by adults and children plus displays of their culture. The picture represents the Valhala Scandinavian Folk Dancers and Vasa Order of America. These dancers will be on stage all three days along with the junior folk dancers. These are regular fixtures on our stage.
