Afrika OYI

Afrika Oyi (togetherness) is sponsored by the Edmonton Multicultural Society (EMS), an umbrella organization that caters to all ethno-cultures and promotes multiculturalism in Edmonton and worldwide. At Heritage Festival, it supports those ethno-culture communities that for one reason or another are unable to enter the Festival on their own, but are eager to display their presence in Edmonton.
Africa Oyi will dazzle you and present an alternative insight into the beauty of several cultures (art, food, entertainment) not often seen in our day-to-day images of the Edmonton Mosaic. This is a display of ethno cultures in one Global village. Come join your other silent families, showcasing the best Edmonton has to offer. The unique name Afrika Oyi (togetherness) is determined by the majority of nations occupying the pavilion. This time around you might learn one unbelievable thing in a series of amazing and unique cultures. Come enjoy yourself to sumptuous dishes, splendour artifacts and moving entertainment all in the spirit of fun and great neighbourhood. You are welcome to drum, dance, boogie and dine with us, Akwaaba!
