Hungary
The ancestors of today’s Hungarians made their way to the Carpathian Mountain basin in central Europe well over a thousand years ago. In the early 1900s, descendants of these early Hungarians began to arrive and settle in the Edmonton area, where they have continued to maintain a rich cultural heritage and vibrant local presence. Join us for a special anniversary this year: The Hungarian Cultural Society celebrates 40 years and you are invited to meet the Magyars at our pavilion this year. While you are here, we’ll tempt you with savory paprika infused main courses and our delectable desserts, not to mention our famous “lángos”. You’ll be awestruck at the phenomenal embroideries and handmade treasures from across Hungary. Also come celebrate the artistry and creativity of our new generations as they perform the csárdás and other energetic folkdances to the strains of traditional violin melodies. We are proud to continue our involvement at this unique Heritage festival and we hope that you continue to support us here as well for many years to come. Egészségetekre – to your very good health!!
