Bienvenue au pavillon France! Welcome to “France”! It is with pride and pleasure that we are taking part in the 2011 Servus Heritage Festival. France is renowned for its wines and wine making art which dates back to the invasion of Gaul (now France) by the Romans. You think you know your stuff about wine? Come and check your knowledge against our quizzes, you might be surprised! In addition, you will find a video montage of some of France’s beautiful sites, as well as some of our traditional costumes displayed on mannequins. This year the show tent also offers some culinary related items for sale such as tablecloths, aprons, tea towels in the well known Provençal fabric, as well as some traditional candies/sweets and “sablés”. For those more interested in French history some special playing cards with historical notes are also available. In addition to our famous crêpes, this year our kitchen gives you the opportunity to try another one of our specialties: “crème à la vanille et sablés pur beurre” (light vanilla custard served with pure butter short bread cookies). Hurry, it is available in limited quantities! Finally, we dare you to fool us: order your dish in French! Bon appétit!
