Chile

Bienvenidos/Welcome to the Chilean Pavilion. Chile is a Spanish speaking country located on the western border of South America. It occupies a very narrow strip of land along the Pacific Ocean. It is approximately 2,650 miles long and about 110 miles wide. A great natural feature to Chile is the long cascade of the Andes Mountains; Chile has an estimated population of about 17 million people (2010). Chile is divided into three different climate zones where the weather and temperature often change drastically. In the north there is the arid Atacama Desert, known as one of the driest places on earth. In central Chile there is the temperate region where you will find the capital of Chile, Santiago, and where most of the population resides. In the south are the lakes and windswept cold regions of Chile. The exportation of fruit and wine around the world are very important to its economy. Chile’s lush landscape and rich culture makes it a unique country in South America., We hope that you take a moment to share in our culture and to enjoy our food.
